Improve diversity and inclusion with one simple question
In August, I was invited to attend and speak at The Arbinger Institute’s conference, called Summit.
With multiple options for breakout sessions, one of the most popular questions from participants was “Will we be able to watch videos from the sessions we missed?”
Thankfully, the answer was “yes”.
All sessions were recorded and we received access in late-October.
I started at the top of the list of videos and have been slowly working my way down. Eventually, I landed at the jackpot session: the presentation on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) facilitated by Desmond Lomax, consultant, master facilitator and EDI leader for Arbinger.
Participants in his session asked questions ranging from:
- How do we help our leaders have meaningful conversations about diversity when we are provided with a checklist of talking points?
- How do we create inclusivity for remote workers post-Covid?
- How might I help my very homogeneous organization understand the value of diversity?
- While the most senior level leaders understand the value of diversity, how do it we help managers at all levels believe it too?
